This guide separates well-established post-fardh adhkar from general duʿā that a Muslim may make at other times. It avoids presenting a personal formula as though every item has a fixed Sunnah count after each obligatory prayer.
Established after the obligatory prayer
1. Seek forgiveness three times
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ
Astaghfirullāh — three times.
2. “Allahumma anta as-Salam…”
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
Allāhumma anta as-salām wa minka as-salām, tabārakta yā dhal-jalāli wal-ikrām.
This sequence is directly reported after Salah.
3. Ask Allah for help in remembrance and worship
اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
Allāhumma aʿinnī ʿalā dhikrika wa shukrika wa ḥusni ʿibādatik.
4. Tasbih, tahmid and takbir
SubḥānAllāh ×33 · Alḥamdulillāh ×33 · Allāhu Akbar ×34 is one authentic form. Other authentic numberings also exist, so the site should not imply there is only one valid formula.
5. Ayat al-Kursi
Reciting Ayat al-Kursi after each obligatory prayer is reported with the virtue that nothing stands between the person and Paradise except death.
6. Al-Muʿawwidhat
The Sunnah contains instruction to recite the protective surahs after prayer. Surah al-Falaq and Surah an-Nas are clearly the Muʿawwidhat. Surah al-Ikhlas is also firmly established in morning/evening and bedtime adhkar, but this page no longer claims all three from a single post-prayer report without qualification.
General duʿā — not a fixed post-fardh checklist
You may ask Allah for halal provision, barakah, guidance, wellbeing, forgiveness and ease. These are good meanings, but custom supplications should not be assigned a fixed post-prayer count unless a reliable source establishes one.
A simple routine
- Astaghfirullāh ×3.
- Allahumma anta as-Salam…
- Established tasbih/tahmid/takbir.
- Ayat al-Kursi.
- Protective surahs/adhkar according to the established reports.
- Make additional duʿā without inventing a fixed religious count.
