Privacy at Step by Step Salah
Step by Step Salah is designed to work without requiring a user account. The site does not run its own advertising or behavioural-profiling system and does not create a cloud learning profile for visitors.
Local learning features
Features such as My Learning, the optional Start Here checklist, the Children & Families progress tracker, Qur’an practice marks and text-size preferences may use browser storage on your device. This information is not sent to Step by Step Salah as a learning profile.
You can remove this local information using reset controls where provided or by clearing site data in your browser.
Hosting, security and technical request data
Like most websites, the hosting or content-delivery provider may process technical request data needed to deliver and secure the site, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, date/time and security signals. This is separate from the browser-local learning features described above.
Offline and app-like features
The site may use a service worker and browser cache so that core files and pages you have already visited can load more reliably or remain available temporarily without a connection. This cache stays on your device and can be cleared through your browser settings.
Prayer Times & Qibla
The optional Prayer Times & Qibla tool does not request location automatically. If you press “Use my location”, your browser asks for permission first. The site rounds coordinates before using them and does not store those coordinates in its own learning database. They are sent from your browser to the AlAdhan prayer-times service to calculate the requested timetable.
If you enter a town, city or postcode instead, that text is sent to the prayer-times service for the calculation. You can use a broad town or city instead of a postcode. Calculation-method and Asr-rule preferences may be stored locally on your device.
Embedded and external services
Some pages include privacy-enhanced YouTube embeds. Loading or playing an embedded video can connect your browser to YouTube/Google and is subject to their own privacy practices. The site also links to external resources such as Quran.com and Sunnah.com; following those links takes you to those services and their own policies.
Third-party services may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies according to their own policies. Step by Step Salah does not control those third-party technologies.
Links to third-party retailers, charities and subscription providers may tell that provider which site referred the visit, according to the provider’s own privacy practices and the browser’s referrer rules. Step by Step Salah does not receive checkout or payment-card details from those external sites.
Contact by email
If you email Step by Step Salah, the information you include in the message is received so the enquiry can be read and answered. Email is handled through an external email provider. Please do not send sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.
You can ask about correction or deletion of information you have sent by emailing [email protected]. Some information may need to be retained where there is a legitimate legal, security or record-keeping reason.
Children and families
The site includes learning resources for families and children, but it is not designed to create child accounts or collect children’s learning profiles. Children should ask a parent or guardian before emailing personal information.
Future changes
If analytics, forms, newsletters, accounts, payments or other data-collecting services are introduced later, this policy should be updated before those features are made public.
