Religious content should show its evidence
Step by Step Salah is designed to make Islamic learning easier without making uncertain claims sound certain. Where a page states that something is Qur’an, Sunnah, obligatory, recommended, a fixed repetition, or carries a specific virtue, we aim to show the source and the strength of the evidence.
For Qur’an verses, we verify references against Quran.com. For hadith text, collection references and displayed gradings, we use Sunnah.com as an accessible index, while preserving the name of the original collection.
How we label different kinds of material
- Qur’an: Arabic revelation is kept distinct from English translation. The translator is named when translation wording is reproduced.
- Hadith: Collection/reference is shown where possible. If a grading is relevant to a virtue claim, the grading is stated rather than hidden.
- Duʿā & dhikr: Repetition counts and promised virtues are only presented as Sunnah when a source supports them. A personal supplication can still be permissible without being labelled a Prophetic formula.
- Fiqh: Where recognised schools differ, we aim to identify the school or explain that there is a difference rather than presenting one method as the only valid view.
- Reflection: Learning prompts and reflections are clearly separated from Qur’an translation and tafsir.
- Visuals: Celestial, garden, water, light and pearl imagery on this site is symbolic design inspired by scriptural descriptions. It is not presented as a literal depiction of the unseen.
Audio is a learning aid, not a substitute for checking the Arabic Qur’an text. Qur’an recitations on this site stream from the Islamic Network CDN under its published provider terms; Step by Step Salah does not re-host those recordings. Recordings without documented redistribution rights are not published.
Translation policy
An English translation is an interpretation of the meanings of the Qur’an, not the Arabic Qur’an itself. When a page carries a substantial English translation, Step by Step Salah names the translator/source and links visitors to a Qur’an reader so they can compare and listen.
Corrections are part of the process
Step by Step Salah has accumulated learning material over several years. Older material is reviewed in stages. If a claim cannot be verified, it is removed, qualified or marked for further review rather than being silently promoted as established Sunnah.
Please use the contact page and include the page title, the wording you are concerned about and—if you have one—the source you believe should be checked.
Useful study links
For deeper study, visitors may also use established learning tools such as Alim for translation/tafsir comparison and reputable research resources such as Yaqeen Institute. These are supplementary resources; they do not replace the source checks described above.
